Sally Brecher grew up in South Orange, New Jersey and received training in photography at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. She has extensive darkroom experience in black and white photography, and working with a medium format camera. Her current work utilizes digital technology. She is a landscape and still life photographer who finds inspiration in the natural world. Her early interest in photo collage for three-dimensional light boxes led her to her current style of deconstructing images and highlighting repetitive patterns of structure, color and light. The pictures shown are printed on fine art archival paper. The formal elements in her photographs invite the viewer to experience a sense of stillness and reflection.
Her exhibits have included: Illuminations at MGH Cancer Center, Ep Levine, Olin College of Engineering, The Center for Digital Arts, Danforth Museum, and Storefront art projects.
Sally lives in Newton MA and shows her work locally. She is a former member of Galatea Fine Arts Gallery in the South End.
